나무 중에 제일 예쁜 나무, 벚나무
가지마다 만개한 꽃을 주렁주렁 매달고,
숲속으로 이어지는 승마길 주변에 서 있네,
부활절을 맞아 하얀 옷으로 단장하였네.
아, 내 인생 칠십 년 중에,
지나간 스무 해는 다시 오지 않으리.
일흔 봄에서 스물을 빼면,
기껏 쉰 번의 봄이 남는구나.
활짝 핀 꽃들을 바라보기에
쉰 번의 봄으로도 충분치 않으니,
숲으로 나는 가리라
눈꽃처럼 만발한 벚나무 보러 가리라.

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.
